Outreach Ministry
God calls us to minister to those around us - ministry that has many forms. We are to be God's hands in the world, to share His love with those in need. He calls us to missions in our community and to the ends of the earth. We are His hands and feet.
UMCOR needs cleaning buckets!!!! Spring often means disasters. Help families recover from disasters by assembling and shipping cleaning buckets so United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) may build up its supplies. Cleaning buckets, formerly known as flood buckets, contain basic supplies to help survivors clean their homes after a flood. Bartlett UMC has volunteered as a collection site. We can do more. Please look at the supply list and bring what you can. The dates will be given to us soon, but we can start our own collection now. Here is the list of supplies that go in each bucket: 5 gallon bucket with resalable lids Buckets from fast food restaurants or bakeries can be used if washed and cleaned. JOIN BUMC AT JACOB’S WELL BUMC Outreach has volunteered to provide the Wednesday night soup kitchen and CPR food for Jacob’s Well beginning on May 30th. This is a huge endeavor and will require a commitment from the members of this church. Every 5th Wednesday, BUMC will serve dinner at Jacob’s Well, located inside Highland Heights UMC. We will serve about 50-60 displaced people, then continue our mission with the Compassion Party on the Road (CPR). CPR is a traveling soup kitchen from Jacob’s Well that serves another 50-60 homeless people. We will need 8-10 volunteers each time. The dates for 2012 are May 30th, August 29th, and October 31st.
